Rawrec - Threaded buffered record/playback of raw audio to/from a file or stdio.

Rawrec and rawplay are utilities to record and play back raw audio data using any sampling rate, format and number of channels supported by the dsp device. They can use standard io, so together with the sox program (and a mixer program like aumix) you can play or record just about any type of file (with much better quality than you get with sox play and recordscripts, since rawrec is fully buffered and threaded). A number of carefully documented options exist which let you control the timing of the run. Care is taken to provide exact information about what the sound card does (i.e. exactly what sampling rate you really get when you request some given rate) to interested users. In short, this program should be particularly useful in a wide variety of scripting applications that need to deal with raw audio, as well as to the user who wants to be able to do precise recording andplaying of raw data to make CDs or the like.
