Putan end to blocking filters, firewalls, and proxies. Surf, chat, read news boards, and get all your email atwork, on campus (or in regions/areas that may block controversial websites). This client supports HTTP,FTP,SMTP, POP3, NEWS, and SOCKS4 networking, in addition to a direct TUNNEL-ing feature.Bypass supports most OSes and works with standard HTTP and SOCKS proxies.
I found out while I downloaded it that:
========== quote
Power Users receive up to 200kbs transfer speed and 100 MB data per day
Basic Users receive up to 120kbs transfer speed and 50 MB data per day
Free-Trial Users only receive up to 80kbs transfer speed and 1 MB data per day
========== end quote
and a subscription to use it costs $5.99 USD/month for the "basic" version and $9.99USD/month for the "power" version.
If I wanted to pay $120/year, I'd use one of the commercial Web-based services. Throw in a 28meg file size (I'm on dialup) and I didn't even bother to complete the file transfer.
Hasn't anybody figured out that porting Proximitron to Linux is a good idea yet?
