I am using gcalctool 5.28 which is the latest version allowed by the synaptic package manager on ubuntu. It does not give the right answer for tanh(0.25), tanh(0.05) and other values between 0 and 0.5.
It's absolute rubbish. The earlier version that allowed direct conversion between hex binary and decimal was excellent. As an embedded programmer, the earlier version with the explicit radio buttons (to convert the displayed value between number bases) was the best feature. Why on earth remove it?
This version does not convert values. Set it in programming mode, enter a hex value, then select binary, which now takes multiple clicks instead of 1 click, and all that happens is it shows a subscript on the hex value to tell you it's base sixteen. Useless.
Bring back the radio buttons and proper conversion.
