I installed it and used it in Ubuntu's Feisty release. It worked great even though I wasn't using KDE. The features I used the most were the auto-mapper and auto-walker. I played Accursed Lands that had massive wilderness rooms similar to DartMUD--it made movement a lot easier for me. I know this comment is a bit delayed but better late than never, no?

Dear Anonymous,

this is why Kmud is labeled as a "development version" at the moment. Just check out newer versions of Kmud from time to time to get bugfixes, e.g. we reworked the linewrapping in the last version.
We don't expect to have everything done right at the first time. We rely on user feedback like yours. So it would be very helpful if you could email a detailed bug report to bugs@kmud.de.

Thanks,
Stephan

I personally don't like it. Alot of bells and whistles that half work. Like, connection wizard that doesn't log you in all the way... Backscroll that goes to hell all the time... I suggest dropping the split screen backsroll and put something in that WORKS. Linewrap that works if you hold your mouth just right...(It wants the window a certain size or it doesn't display parts of the lines...)
Someone else that talked me into trying it has even more problems with it (hehehe). It sometimes decides to double echo everything on him... Besides the problems I've already mentioned for myself.

I will admit I still haven't found a mud client I truely like in Linux. Kmud is just yet another that half does things for you. Only feature I like in kmud is cut/paste.
So for now, I'm sticking to raw telnet until I can find something decent.
