KArchiver - A powerful but intuitive compressed files manager for KDE.Updated by coquelleon Friday, September 22nd 2006.
A little archiver for KDE, to easily manage & modify .tar, .gz, .zip files, throught wizards (compile, make & install under a KDE interface !!).
The goal of karchiver is to be very easy to use (icons, contextual menus, drag&drop, undo/redo, wizards...), but powerful (convert a .tar.gz to a .zip, create Self-Extracting Archives -"Universal" or for Windows- apply patches, read several archive format, pilot KArchiver through the command-line).
KArchiver is integrated in Konqueror: view, extract or create an archive just with a mouse click, without leaving Konqueror.
Now, KArchiver can create multi-platform, self-extracting archives, provides some animated icons...

Release Notes : This new release introduces the support of Zip and Rar archive comments, the ability to repair damaged archives, the creation of Self-Extracting Archives (for windows or "Universal"), a huge speed-up while processing Rar archives. A Japanese translation has been added, and some bugs fixed.
