FCE Ultra is a high-compatibility NES and Famicom emulator. FCE Ultra emulates all of the core features of NES well(including decent emulation of the PAL NES), and it supports many on-cart expansion devices and input devices, including the "Zapper", "Power Pad", "Arkanoid" paddles, and the "Family BASIC Keyboard". X11/Unix port of the MultiArcade Machine Emulator project (Mame). Mame is an arcade machine emulator. Started in 1997 by Nicola Salmoria, mame started out as a series of emulators for individual games. This series of emulators was combined into a simgle multi-game emulator. This is the current form of mame; no longer a one-man show, there are over 100 contributors to the project.
DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. VICE is a Versatile Commodore Emulator, i.e. a program that runs on a Unix, MS-DOS/Win95/NT or RiscOS machine and executes programs intended for the old 8-bit Commodore computers.
