The purpose of the Themes for Open Motif project is to provide the ability for applications linked with Open Motif to automatically adapt their look to the currently used GNOME or KDE desktop theme. This goal will be achieved in phases, the first of which will be to incorporate basic support for themes in Open Motif. In this phase, compatibility with GTK/KDE themes will be via hand conversion of themes.
