The IBM XL C Alpha Edition for CBE Processor is a cross-compiler that is tuned for the Cell Broadband Engine Architecture (CBEA). This C compiler, which is hosted on Fedora Core 4 for x86, generates code for the PowerPC Processor Element (PPE) or Synergistic Processor Element (SPE). The IBM XL C Alpha Edition for CBE Processor provides two invocation commands: ppuxlc and spuxlc. The command ppuxlc is used to generate code for the PPE, and spuxlc is used to generate code for the SPE.
