FreeMED is an integrated electronic medical record / practice management system which will run on any DHTML compliant browser, enabling providers to access their systems remotely without expensive equipment or dedicated lines. FreeMED is being built from the ground up as a web and web-services based system, with comprehensive scanning and faxing, document management, modular EMR, messaging system, HL7 interface, and many other features which are as good if not better than those found in commercial EMR systems.
