A great tool. It does work, indeed !! Tried complex setup, backup of NTFS on a remote Win-server (SMB) from multiple clients, without problems !

Partimage is a fantantic tool for creating Bare Metal Backups. It creates compact, complete backups and makes server recovery a snap. But the trouble with it has always been the user interface is pretty dense. We decided to solve this, by creating a graphical interface around partimage. We called our tool partimage (named after the greek muse of history and archives). Kleo is a wizard style interface that walks you through the process of creating partimage bare metal backups. You simply select the filesystem you intend to backup and pick the destination folder where to store your backups. Kleo also handles scanning and mounting remote filesystems if you'd prefer to store backups on the network. We bundled Kleo with the Carroll-Net Server Recovery Kit. A LiveCD packed with hundreds of specialized server recovery tools -- gparted, ntpasswd, memtest86, install-mbr, dd_rescue, and more. Both Kleo & the Server Recovery Kit are free for any use. The CnSRK is released as GNU-GPv2 and Kleo is released as freeware. You can download a free copy from kleobackup.net
