VMware is software that runs multiple virtual computers on a single PC--at the same time--without partitioning or rebooting.
VMware makes other operating systems transparently available, running in a window or full-screen, along side applications from your "host operating system," the operating system that boots up when you turn on your PC. VMware is currently available for Windows and Linux.

This is great software...I've had it since it first came out and it only gets better! Nick
Two (or more) machines in one. Effective use of HW. Excellent for companies needing to support multiple OS's esp. in SW development.
Excellent software, very professionnal and easy to use. Install everytime on any distribution. Impressive engineering too! But still has some performance issues, specifically related to disk accesses (under Win'98 at least) and bootup time. A bit costly too.
This is an excellent program to run almost any MS-Windows. I'm running RH 7.3 and Win2000 in a VMWare window, you need a fast PC to handle the two concurrent OS. It is possible to have more than two OS running at any one time. Virtual PCs, or multiple instances of an OS. It takes some work to get it going but it pays off. You can cut and paste from one OS to the other OS.
